1. Song List
2. Public
appearances
3. What Rob can provide for your
special event
A. Solo instrumental guitar
You have the option of Rob playing solo instrumental
guitar and this choice is excellent for dinners, cocktail hours,
hotel lobbies, the quiet hour of a wedding reception or business lunch.
Any time you want live music but you want it way in the background
drawing as little attention from your guests as possible.
This also the cheapest alternative and takes up the least amount of
space. This is a perfect sound for a showing or
funeral for the person who wants something much hipper than the blue
haired lady playing the organ. Very sweet sound. Listen to the sample
(HERE).
B. Solo guitar with electronic
accompaniment
Rob also plays his Gibson electric guitar along with
MIDI accompaniment. This is very common today when price, space, volume
and affordability are factors. You get the sound of a band with
only one person taking up space and costing money. Rob sequences
(records) the bass , piano, drums and whatever the song needs and plays
along with the Apple G4 laptop in the movie.(see
Red
Room)
This is an added plus because you can have .mp3 files played before,
after his performance and on the intermissions just like a D.J. but not
obnoxious. You can even request a microphone for toasts,
announcements, whatever. This set up takes up about 6'x 4'of space.
C. Guitar with MIDI accompaniment and
a percussionist
This option is very nice because percussionist adds
quite a lot. It makes the music more danceable if that is
important without adding much volume to the sound.
It does add about 6'x 4'of space to the set up. This addition gives the
set a more band type illusion instead of one man band.
D. Guitar with MIDI and a full kit
drummer
This option is about the same as C. but makes the
show more danceable
for sure and adds about 50% to the volume. A little punch
as the music people say.
E. Guitar with MIDI a percussionist
and drums (See
Blues
for Anya)
Last but not least is the option of a trio and this
definitely makes
the show look more like a traditional band.
It is a very nice
combination.
